Lately I’ve been getting more and more fed up with being a one car family. We go most places together, and I actually enjoy taking public transportation with the toddler, but sometimes I do really miss having my own car. It isn’t quite in the budget right now but a girl can dream! Being a one car family saves money (gas, maintenance, even paying for the extra parking in some apartments we’ve considered living in) and is good for the environment, but it definitely has downsides as well. I have a driver’s license but haven’t had a car in my own name in over five years – It feels like forever! (Our current family vehicle was purchased about a year before we were married.)

I am also a big fan of Hondas – My first car was an Accord – and Toyotas. As much as I love hoofing it around with a stroller and watching my kid’s face when we take the light rail, there is nothing like the feeling of buying a new (used) car.
