Things I Love Thursday (belated)

It’s been awhile, but here is this week’s love list.

♥ My kiddo’s new sleeping habits. I just know I’m going to jinx this, but for the past few weeks Sebastian has been sleeping like a champ. He isn’t quite sleeping through the night, but it’s close. He nurses to sleep (or right before rolling off and going to sleep), then again around the time I go to bed, and then sometimes once more in the middle of the night. Maybe that doesn’t sound like good sleep, but it means there are days I am not woken up even once until it’s time to get up in the morning. For the first time in almost two years.
♥ Sebastian’s language skills blowing up. Lately there are so many new words and signs. I know that one day soon he’ll just wake up and start talking to us in complete sentences!
♥ Fabulous family. On Thursday we saw all of the grandparents and spent a lot of time outside. We spread ourselves a little thin, but it was worth it. After seeing my father-in-law in the morning we had a picnic in the park with my parents and my brother. Sebastian is becoming much more outgoing, particularly with his grandpas who he doesn’t see nearly often enough. Much of the park trip was spent trying to chase down the kiddo, who was intent only on sprinting to the basketball court (OBSESSED, I tell you), and comforting after many subsequent falls on very skinned knees, but it was worth it for moments of pure glee in the park sprinklers.

♥ This fabulous man, who is 28 today. Happy birthday to my husband Donny. He is the bravest person I know and an amazing father, friend and teacher to Sebastian. It really warrants its own post, but he is every bit the wonderful dad I knew he would be.

I absolutely love Sebastian’s face in those sprinkler photos. That looks like so much fun! So glad to hear sleep has improved, too. I know that’s been a challenge in your house, as in ours. Here’s to more rest for you!
