Milk Nursingwear review & giveaway!

Jun 20, 2011 / 35 Comments

This giveaway is now closed ~ Congratulations to Jessica!

I recently received a Cobacabana lace nursing bra from Milk Nursingwear to review. All opinions are 100% my own.

Hot pink Cobacabana bra

I was really excited to have some pretty nursing wear, and this bra is very pretty. I love the color. It is not quite as comfortable as my Bravado but it is very comfortable and perfect for tops where my bra straps might peek out. Sometimes I love a bit of hot pink or black lace poking out from under a white tank! The bra cups are lined with cotton and it is easy to unhook each side with one hand, although the clasps don’t snap closed as hard as I would like. It definitely beats the crap out of the similarly-priced Medela bra I bought the week Sebastian was born.

The Cobacabana bra is a perfect sexy bra that you can still nurse in, and Milk Nursingwear has many more styles of bras, nursing tops, nursing sleepwear and more.

Rockin baby sling pouch review & giveaway

Apr 26, 2011 / 48 Comments

This giveaway is closed ~ Congratulations to Erin & her Sebastian!

I was sent a pouch from Rockin’ Baby Sling for review purposes. All opinions here are totally my own.

I came upon Rockin’ Baby Sling when another blogger posted about them and I knew that I had to have one of these baby carriers. These pouches and slings stand apart due to their beautiful fabrics and after their relaunch, the company also has a mission: For every sling/pouch purchased, a sling will be donated to a mother in Haiti.

Babywearing - Rockinbabysling

Pros: The print on my pouch is gorgeous and vibrant, and all of their styles are equally so. I love that this carrier will fold up and take up very little space in my diaper bag – It would even fit in a non-diaper bag if I folded it up tight enough. Rockin’ Baby Slings are made with 5 yards of fabric and pouches are made with 3 yards and adjustable with a zipper system. Slings and pouches are reversible.

My Rockin’ Baby Pouch is very easy to use – Getting Baby in and out is easier than from a soft structured carrier or a Mei Tai, the other carriers I have tried. My favorite (so far) is the hip carry, which lets Sebastian look all around. I love how natural and primal it feels to use a carrier like this! Although there are carries appropriate for younger babies, I really love this for my older infant.

Cons: I really can’t cite any cons for this product except for a learning curve I would have experienced with any pouch or sling, nothing specific to this product. (More on how to wear a baby pouch or sling, as well as sling/pouch babywearing safety guidelines.) I really want to master front and back carries!

Tropical Traditions Review & Giveaway

Apr 17, 2011 / 32 Comments

This giveaway is closed ~ Congratulations Ereka!

I love and trust Tropical Traditions products, so I was excited to review their All-Purpose Cleaner. I was provided this product at no cost but this is my honest opinion.

My determination to clean with only non-toxic products actually began not when my son was born or even when I became pregnant, but when we brought home our puppy! With my little Rufio scampering around on the ground, I became (rightly) uncomfortable using Swiffer floor cleaner and other chemicals in our home, and it snowballed from there. Nowadays we clean using vinegar, plant-based cleaners and bleach on rare occasions. We literally breathe easier now. If you are still using the big commercial cleaners (P&G brands, etc) I suggest you do some research into just what you’re spraying in your home.

Tropical Traditions All-Purpose Cleaner contains no perfumes or dyes and uses plant enzymes to cut through filth. Perfume-free products are a big deal as fragrances are typically very toxic and their listing isn’t regulated – Companies do not have to disclose what goes into their fragrances. This Tropical Traditions cleaner has a light botanical scent that disappears quickly after use. Ever since my pregnancy I have been very sensitive to smells and I find this product completely inoffensive. It is also gentle enough that I don’t mind if it gets on my skin or is used where my infant son plays.

Tropical Traditions All-Purpose Cleaner

As you can see in the photo above, our bottle of Tropical Traditions cleaner is just about empty – We love the stuff. My husband does most of the kitchen and bathroom cleaning as of late and he attests that this product picks up anything. He uses it to clean our counters and I have recently used it to clean the baby’s booster seat and the inside of our washing machine. This cleaner can also be used to clean produce (yep, that safe), pre-treat laundry stains, clean carpets and more. Tropical Traditions make great products and definitely have my brand loyalty!

Tropical Traditions All-Purpose Cleaner spray bottle

One spray bottle of Tropical Traditions All-Purpose Cleaner sells on their website for $8, or around $25 for a one gallon jug. Or you can enter to win your own bottle of Tropical Traditions All-Purpose Cleaner.

Giveaway Spotlight: Pocket Diaper Lovers Pack!

Apr 17, 2011 / 0 Comments

I used to enter up to a dozen giveaways per day. Nowadays I have considerably less time and am forced to be choosier. Two of the items that I always try to win are Happy Heinys and FuzziBunz cloth diapers, so I am all over this cloth diaper giveaway at Mama B which include one Happy Heiny, one Rumparooz and one FuzziBunz cloth diaper.

Pocket Diapers Giveaway

Happy Heinys are some of the cutest diapers out there and are available in an array of fun prints. FuzziBunz are definitely our favorite cloth diaper as they are so trim and never twist or bunch up (the way the Happy Heinys sometimes do unfortunately). The ease of use for both of these diapers also makes them great for those doing elimination communication. (I’ll be writing up a formal post about my fave cloth diapers and dipe accessories later.)

Visit this post to enter the giveaway – Ends 4/26.
