Sebastian’s 1st Birthday Party

Sebastian turned one year old on the 23rd. We celebrated all weekend, with his 1st birthday party on Saturday and a smash cake on Monday. We were lucky to have nice weather, and hosted the party at a local park. It was a simple kids’ party put together for a pretty small budget.
This dol tower was a ton of fun/a pain in the ass to put together and I have the glue gun burn to prove it. I totally want to make a bunch more, perhaps for Sebastian’s room?

We served cake, chips and finger sandwiches, with a variety of colorful sodas and organic juice boxes. Guests were asked to sign Dr. Seuss’s ABC book.

For goodie ‘bags’ we had brightly colored takeout boxes. We filled them with plastic jewelry, bubbles, organic lollipops, and more. I also stitched felt letters, one for the first letter of each child’s name.

Donny and I were about 50/50 on party planning. He put together all of the food. He also helped me relax and not sweat every detail.

I helped Sebastian open presents. We got lots of cute clothes and books. Seb also received a LeapFrog My Pal Scout and my sister gave him a keyboard that plays many annoying songs and meows.

MEOW MEOW MEOW.

Simple sheet cake after presents, then some playing with Aunt Nattie before everyone headed home!

My sweet Sebastian, you are ONE. You say “Mama,” “Dada” and “Balloon,” and you make a “Cuh” sound when you see or hear an animal. You sign for “flag,” “food,” and “milkies” (which you still love). You weigh around 25 pounds and wherever we go people comment on your head full of curls. You usually wear a serious face out in public but at home you are constantly laughing and playing games. You love to roll your ball and start impromptu games of peek-a-boo. You are toddling all over the place but still crawl when you are trying to get somewhere quickly. You give us kisses and ‘help’ me put on my glasses. You are hot like Daddy and always kick off your blankets. You always wake up with a big smile and I do my best to help you fall asleep with one still on your face. I love you from your seven teeth down to your stinky feet.

Wow! Looks like a fun day. Happy Birthday Sebastian
Janine the party turned out great! Sebastian looks so happy! So weird to remember we met on Twitter when we were both pregnant and from Gresham.. now our “babies” are mini-people full of personality. He is gorgeous and smart and above all, obviously loved. Happy first birthday Sebastian, and how awesome that we live in a time where all his milestones are forever imprinted online.
Good job you two!
Happy birthday, Sebastian!
You two did a great job planning the party! I looked at the pictures and wished I was there.
Looks like you & Donny did a great job! I love the favor boxes and how brighly colored everything was. I should have consulted with you before I had Jackson’s 2nd birthday party at our local park! I forgot the utensils, paper products, and some of the decorations. I suck. Thank goodness he won’t remember my mistakes.
Happy Birthday Sebastian!
They grow up so fast! He’s so adorable. It looks like the party was a hit! I love it.
Awww happy birthday lil’ Sebastian! My oh my he is growing up pretty fast.
His birthday party looks so fun! Everything is so colorful and vibrant, I love it.
What great pics!! I love it! Looks like you had an amazing day!!!
I already browsed the pics on Facebook – you did a great job with the party! That is one sweet kitty keyboard.
This somehow got buried in my reader, but I’m so glad I found it eventually. Everything looks perfect! Not too fussy, but still super cute. It seems Sebastian had a great day, and you and the hus weren’t overly stressed. A success in my book! Happy belated to Sebastian!
