Rockin baby sling pouch review & giveaway
Posted on | April 26, 2011 | 48 Comments
This giveaway is closed ~ Congratulations to Erin & her Sebastian!
I was sent a pouch from Rockin’ Baby Sling for review purposes. All opinions here are totally my own.
I came upon Rockin’ Baby Sling when another blogger posted about them and I knew that I had to have one of these baby carriers. These pouches and slings stand apart due to their beautiful fabrics and after their relaunch, the company also has a mission: For every sling/pouch purchased, a sling will be donated to a mother in Haiti.

Pros: The print on my pouch is gorgeous and vibrant, and all of their styles are equally so. I love that this carrier will fold up and take up very little space in my diaper bag – It would even fit in a non-diaper bag if I folded it up tight enough. Rockin’ Baby Slings are made with 5 yards of fabric and pouches are made with 3 yards and adjustable with a zipper system. Slings and pouches are reversible.
My Rockin’ Baby Pouch is very easy to use – Getting Baby in and out is easier than from a soft structured carrier or a Mei Tai, the other carriers I have tried. My favorite (so far) is the hip carry, which lets Sebastian look all around. I love how natural and primal it feels to use a carrier like this! Although there are carries appropriate for younger babies, I really love this for my older infant.
Cons: I really can’t cite any cons for this product except for a learning curve I would have experienced with any pouch or sling, nothing specific to this product. (More on how to wear a baby pouch or sling, as well as sling/pouch babywearing safety guidelines.) I really want to master front and back carries!

Win a Rockin’ Baby Pouch or Sling!
Rockin’ Baby Slings and Pouches retail for $79.99 but one Alternative Housewife winner will win one! Print will depend on what the giveaway sponsor has in stock but you will have your choice of either a pouch or a sling.

I think after all the slings that I do have I would LOVE to try a pouch!

I would consider myself a “moderate” baby wearer. I know my slings well and my daughter loves them I love the bond that it helps maintain with us.

I would choose a pouch. I have never tried a pouch and it looks comfy! love the print too.

I am also a moderate baby wearer. I wear Lily at least a few days a week. I have a Seven Sling and I am not a huge fan. It is very stiff and uncomfortable. I usually use my Beco. I love baby wearing and luckily Lily loves it too

I would love to try a sling!

I will probably need one with the new baby coming and chasing a toddler.

I love the print and have never tried a pouch. I have had a ring sling, 2 mobys and a bjorn. I would love to have this one.

Grayson loves to be worn, so this would be perfect!

Love their slings! We could totally use a new sling for this little girl, arriving this summer! I’m a pouch and a sling user, but lean more towards slings for the great adjustability factor.
I “like” Rocking Baby Sling Relaunch on FB, but can’t follow on Twitter because I had to cut something out of my internet time, and chose the tweets.
I’d call myself an “expert”, I guess…I teach a babywearing class every now and then and incorporate babywearing education into my birth-doula services.
I also follow you via Google Reader, and on Facebook.

I have a Moby, a Bjorn and an Ergo. So I’m a babywearing addict. I don’t have a pouch or a sling but I think I’d trust your judgment and vote to try a pouch
I’m interested in the hip carry for sure. If one Sebastian likes it, another Sebastian surely would
April 26th, 2011 @ 11:13 PM
As far as my level of skill, I’m not sure. I’m not a newbie exactly but I recognize that I am far from expert. I wear him daily and I love the Ergo but would like to try more. It’s something I wish I would have done more when he was even younger.

I would choose a sling. I actually have that same pouch and I love it but the rings slings have my heart.
April 27th, 2011 @ 7:17 AM
I wouldn’t consider myself an expert yet. I need to learn how to wrap first. But I’ve got all the other carroers down and the basics with a moby.

I love both the pouches and slings, but would try a pouch for ease of popping baby in and out!
May 5th, 2011 @ 8:54 PM
I wore my oldest (2 years) from the time he was an infant. I love a wrap in general and have now moved him to an ergo. I just had a second baby, and am again loving him in a wrap. But, I’m looking for something a little quicker around the house. I love babywearing, especially when travelling!

I would pick the pouch. I’m not a big girl, so I always have a lot of “extra” fabric with ring slings.
May 6th, 2011 @ 11:07 AM
I’m pretty new to baby wearing. I’m expecting my first baby now, but I’ve practiced baby wearing a lot with my nieces and nephews.
