Menopause weight loss

I know firsthand that hormone changes can majorly thwart your attempts at weight loss and keeping weight off. Changes in hormone levels while breastfeeding have made it nearly impossible for me to take off the last twenty pounds of baby weight, despite strictly monitoring calories and being more active now than I’ve ever been in my life. Menopause is another womanly milestone known for crazy hormone fluctuations. When natural estrogen levels drop during menopause, your body looks to other sources of the hormone, one of which is converting calories into fat to help meet your body’s estrogen quota. It is easy to feel ashamed and embarrassed about your failed weight loss efforts – and I personally hate making excuses – but hormones really do have a proven effect on your body’s ability to keep fat off.
Weight gain menopause typically starts around the mid-forties, with roughly 90% of women between 40-55 reporting difficulty in losing excess weight, especially belly fat. Your body stores fat differently as you age, causing a pear-shaped figure to look more like an apple. This apple shape, with most weight packed around the abdomen, is both unattractive and dangerous, as excess weight around the midsection is often a precursor to heart disease, breast cancer and other health problems. Women with excess weight may also experience more severe menopausal symptoms.
Amberen works by gently encouraging your body to balance estrogen levels. More balanced hormone levels can make you look and feel better, making exercise more appealing and more effective. It’s frustrating to diet and work out with little to no results. It’s a lot harder to eat well and keep exercising when you aren’t seeing the physical payoff you’re used to. Restoring hormone levels won’t make you skinny overnight, but it is a first step in helping your body slim down and store fat the way it should.
