Alternative Housewife

J

I'm Janine, wife to Donny and mama to Sebastian (age 18 months). We live (with our annoying dog) in a simple, cozy apartment in Portland, Oregon, where we are working on building our home and our lives with style. I believe in buying secondhand, in basic and natural products, and in living fabulously on any budget. More about us.

Good lord, this is the most pale I’ve been since birth. On Friday I wore this to an appointment. Sunny days are finally coming back to Portland, although it was too cold to wear this outfit without the sweatshirt.

Sunnies: Sunglass Warehouse
Tanks: Old Navy
Hoodie: American Apparel
Leggings: Ross, $3
Sandals: Ideeli, by Matisse

This was also the unveiling of my finally blue-black hair. I got it this shade from blond using L’Oreal Feria Starry Night. I desperately need a haircut and am still debating how short I want it. I definitely want to cut off the ratty ends and aim for something sleek.

I’ve been feeling very inspired lately, and hoping to do lots of shopping and closet re-vamping in the near future.
