Online shopping sites with holiday shipping

I love online discount sites and scour through emails of new sales daily, but the downside to those sites is typically the shipping. If you are planning to do your holiday shopping online, sites like Beyond the Rack and MyHabit are perfect for steeply discounted brand name gifts, but shop now. Most of these sites now have shipping dates noted per item – Zulily marks items that are guaranteed to arrive by Christmas with a snowflake – but time is running out on these great deals.
This Smart Balance Bike is currently for sale on Zulily for $49.99, originally $90. (I can’t wait to get Sebastian one of these!)
Right now Gilt Groupe is rocking out Kate Spade and William Rast among other brands. Their collection of vintage home items includes beautiful candles & framed old maps that would make great gifts.
Billion Dollar Babes is now offering blowout deals via section – Shop Kids, Home, Denim, and more.
This is not a paid post but I do receive a small amount of store credit with these sites if you make a purchase using my link – So get shopping!
Harijuku Mini now in Target Stores

Gwen Stefani’s brand new infant and toddler line, Harijuku Mini, hit Target stores on the 13th and will available online shortly. We headed out Sunday morning to check out the items in person and were impressed with the collection! Unfortunately, the store we visited hadn’t received as many little boy as girl items. The items they did carry were wicked cute, however, and I managed to snap a few photos with my dying camera.

Last pic is Bas trying on a basic blazer from the collection, $20.
Overall I think the line is really cute and the prices are great for it being a Gwen collab. I would have liked to see more boy stuff but the lack may have just been the store I visited. We have one pair of Japanese-style monkey pants but they just barely fit and I’d love these panda ones (below).

You can check out photos from the Harijuku Mini launch, which includes her own boys, Kingston and Zuma, modeling the clothes. Go boy moms!
Thrifting, thrifting, and more thrifting
The weather around Portland has been on-off sunny & rainy this week and we are doing what we can to avoid stir-craziness. In the past few days we have walked through several thrift stores, including the grand opening of a new Salvation Army where we spun a wheel for a shopping discount and Sebastian got a balloon! We had a lot of fun going up and down the aisles – the Salvation Army Superstore even has a cafe! – and made out with some great finds.

Liz Claiborne wrap stretch top, $9 (Deseret Industries). I am in love with this shirt! Had to have it. And that is my new thrifting criteria. I usually do well but do occasionally end up with things that I just end up turning around & donating. Pointless! Only buying what I can’t stand to leave on the rack will open up my budget for the stuff I know I really want.
Dr. Scholl’s Tassel Loafers,$4 (Deseret Industries). These were brand new – They still had tape around the tassels. Apparently these are from the 80′s and thus considered vintage. They are really comfy!

Am I the only one who comes home and immediately looks up the details/retail value of my thrift finds? This bag is in pitiful condition (a bit of wear on the outside, and stained lining) but I’m still happy with it: Steven by Steve Madden ‘Contessa – Large’ Calf Hair Satchel in Snow Leopard. This might be my new winter bag. $3 (Deseret Industries).

I adore these cards, which I picked up for just $1.25 (Salvation Army). The copyright dates are from 1968 and there are assorted cards for various occasions. That elephant card on top is probably my favorite, although there are a few “For my wife” humor cards that remind me of Mad Men.

Lastly, this little yellow blazer for Sebastian, $2 (Deseret Industries), complete with an embroidered anchor on the breast. It even looks good with athletic shorts!

Sebastian loves thrifting!
Craft Date: Twig Candle Holder + Beaded Necklaces
Last December I got together with my best friend/neighbor Brittanie to make DIY holiday wreaths. We hot glued and gossiped and vowed to do craft sessions at least once a month from then on out. Nine months later, we finally had a follow-up craft sesh yesterday. Inspired by Pinterest, Brittanie made Halloween luminaries (I’m hoping she’ll post some pics on her blog!) and I created a twig candle holder (inspired by this) and a beaded necklaces (inspired by this).
This little candle holder came out better than I expected and looks really great with a tea candle inside. I think I’ll buy a package of green (prosperity) candles to burn in it. I love this little bit of nature on my desk.

These beads were leftover from a project I hosted for the kids on our camping trip. I actually love how the mixed colors look. I cut up one of the husband’s old t-shirts and the stretch is perfect. I can wear them all together or just a couple at a time, and they are perfect for Sebastian to tug on (instead of my skin!) while nursing.
Hopefully Britt & I can manage to actually get together for regular craft ‘dates’. Maybe we can buy and work through the P.S.– I Made This book.
