Best Natural Body Lotions

Yes to Carrots is hands-down my favorite brand of moisturizer (and shampoo!). Their Hand and Elbow Moisturizing Cream is a fast-acting lifesaver, and the light, natural scent of their products lasts all day. Yes to Carrots formulas are built on fruits and vegetables and Dead Sea minerals and are Paraben Free. There really isn’t much to say about their products other than to try them. You can purchase Yes to Carrots bath and beauty products at Walgreens. I was originally sent some products to review and have since made many trips back to the drugstore to purchase more.

I recently ordered the Best of Bump Box Sampler from The Spoiled Mama and I am obsessed. The company makes luxe organic products for Pregnancy, Postpartum, Baby and Breastfeeding, although many of their products (Body Creme, Sugar Scrubs, even teas) would be just as great for non-mamas. While a bit spendy, the products I purchased are extremely decadent. I especially like the Bump Gloss, designed to prevent stretchmarks.

Yu-Be Moisturizing Cream can be used on body or face (even lips) and has a strong camphor smell, which I love. The lotion is hardcore and really effective, and contains no artificial color or fragrance. You can try out three sample tubes for just $5. The brand also sells Foaming Skin Polish, one of my favorite products ever, and offers gift sets.

I was sent Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion to review. I’ve used most of the bottle and I love the instant barrier it creates. I use this lotion before bed and it keeps my skin comfortable overnight. Unfortunately, the product doesn’t seem to have much long term effect – After several days of routine use I noticed no change in the roughness of my skin. I don’t have especially sensitive skin, but I’ve read reviews of Skin MD Shielding Lotion being great even for infants. I like that it has very little scent and can be used on body or face, even mixed with bronzer or other face products.

I have a bottle of Skin MD too but I only use it on my body and rarely my face. I’m scared of it causing me to break out. Has it for you?

BTW, when are you due and when do you know if it’s a boy or girl?

    • J says:

It’s never made me break out. I’m prone to breakouts but almost never from products.

Due date is late September or early October, and hopefully we’ll know in a few weeks!

  2. I love the Yes To Carrots line. Namely, the hair conditioner. Davies Gate’s Lemon Made organic body lotion is delicious. http://www.daviesgate.com/index.cfm/s/1/a/catalog.prodshow/vid/108/catid/24

I’ve tried the Burt’s Bees carrot moisturizer, and it surprisingly smells so good! Now I definitely want to try out the Yes to Carrots line.

quick: I need to know what you use/know of to use to clean make-up brushes. Preferably effective, cheap, and easy to get!! :) Please and thanks!

I actually use Yes to Carrots shampoo! I’ve always heard of shampoo working in lieu of brush cleanser in a pinch and Y2C is paraben-free and smells great, leaves no residue.

I’m curious about how brush cleaning is coming off as an emergency situation!

Haha, thanks for answering and then alerting me that you answered.

I’ve never heard of using shampoo, that is great! So easy. The leftover residue (if any) is my greatest concern. So, yay!

Well, maybe I overexaggerated a teensy bit about it being an emergency; however, I really feel that the application looks gross when there a brush is too gunky. I didn’t want to experiment, because I only use one brush…just wanted to get a quick answer. :) Thanks! You always come through.

Oh yeah, and I agree with the person who posted below. Ditto.
