Cloth Diapering

06-29-2010 ** Categories: Baby / Tags: ,

Cloth diapers are something I intend to try with this baby, and somehow I even managed to get the husband on board! The main reasons I want to use cloth diapers are to reduce waste, to limit Baby’s exposure to toxic chemicals (so gross what goes into disposables), and for the cuteness factor. You can read more here on reasons to use cloth diapers.

I’m excited about the fluffy goodness, but starting off is a bit intimidating – there are tons of cute options and everyone seems to have a different favorite brand and style.

Probably the cutest style of cloth dipe I have come across is the Envibum. The cuddly Minkee fabric draws me in, and I love the green style in particular:

Envigreen Cloth Diaper

Me and My Boys! blog is hosting an Envibum giveaway, giving one reader their choice of either Envibum one-size, all-in-one cloth diaper or a one-size diaper cover. I’m really hoping to win this one as my first diaper. :)

Do you use cloth diapers? What is your favorite brand/style?

Current & Upcoming Summer Sales

Sometimes it is a really good thing that I don’t have money in my bank account…

Chanel Print Bag Betsey Johnson Wayfarer Sunnies
Jardin Statement Costume Jewelry Ed Hardy Filina Satchel

Vintage Chanel at Billion Dollar Babes – I normally prefer the classic quilted Chanel handbag (which is in the sale as well), but I love this turquoise and fringe for summer. Chanel sale going on now!

Betsey Johnson at ideeli – Once a retro throwback, wayfarers are now a classic and not going anywhere. Sign up now to check out the Betsey Johnson sale starting tomorrow, 6/29.

Jardin statement jewelry at ideeli – I love my clothes to be simple, so it’s up to the accessories to make an outfit. My favorite are oversize earrings and statement necklaces. Jardin sale starting tomorrow, 6/29.

There is also a Steve Madden sale starting on ideeli 6/29. Steve Madden is one of my favorite brands – the shoes really hold up well but are affordable. Madden shoes are a guilt-free investment.

Ed Hardy at Beyond the Rack – I am probably the only fashion blogger who actually likes Ed Hardy but I guess I have a little bit of white trash in me. I love the tattoo-inspired designs (I really want an Ed Hardy bikini) and major embellishments. Ed Hardy sale going on now.

What’s on your must-haves list for summer shopping?

On My Wishlist: Filofax Metropol in AmberGala Darling: A Filofax Love Affair! I am so gay (happy!) for organizing, and Gala has me fiending for the perfect day planner. A couple made my wish list.

The Seventeen Magazine Project is really, really cool in that “I wish I’d thought of that!” way.

The House of Wood: DIY Artwork: City Chic Jen also has a baby due in September but she has way more pregnancy nesting energy than I do. She does great decor do-it-yourselfs.

Door Sixteen: Sometimes “Good Enough” is Good Enough This is a big lesson I’m learning right now! It’s funny how much I used to strive for “perfection” in the style of my home, yet the homes I love spending time in are always “lived in” and imperfect.

Things I Want Now

Triple Star RingTriple Star Ring

I saw this Triple Star Ring by Maison Martin Margiela on Nylon Blogs. At $275, I’m sure I will never actually own it, but perhaps someone will put something similar up on Etsy?

UO Modern Tribal HoopsThese Modern Tribal Hoops by Urban Outfitters are kind of perfection. Going perfectly with my turquoise obsession,  they also feature my other fave jewelry embellishment – studs!

Honey "Brond" Hair

Bronde hair… Maybe? Style List has renamed what I usually refer to as “honey” and I may need to pick up a box (I always do my own color) and rock a lighter shade for summer. With the red still in my hair it’d probably come out strawberry blond just in time for the 4th of July. Thoughts?

TOMS Red Calypso Wedge

I may have to invest in the TOMS Calypso Wedge. I mentioned these shoes before but wasn’t sure about actually buying them… until I saw the wedges styled by Clutch 22. Oh. My. Goodness. The little triangles elongate the leg and the nautical color and stripes remind me of Amy Winehouse (but in a good way).

Between baby plans and blog ideas, I really need a new day planner/organizer, and I’m lusting after a Filofax – love the Siena Personal Organizer in Cinnamon and the Metropol Personal Organizer in Amber.

Siena Personal Organizer in Cinnamon

A personal organizer will tuck nicely into my Matt & Nat diaper bag, which I’m still excitedly waiting for.
